The Bay State Hockey Foundation (BSHF) was created in 2005 and it is the non-profit arm of the Junior Bruins Organization. The BSHF is registered with the state of Massachusetts as a 501 c and has tax exempt status and all monies donated to BSHF are tax deductible.

Over the years the Junior Bruins have seen too many players and families who are not able to participate in their program, as well as others, due to a lack of finances. It was this in mind that the Bruins started to look at various fund raising opportunities.

One of those is the Junior Bruins Golf Outing which was started in 2004. The chief benefactor of the Golf Outing is the BSHF which uses monies raised or donated for need based scholarships and to help keep the cost of participating in Bruins programs as low as possible. With the creation of the BSHF the Junior Bruins are now able to take direct donations and use those for players and families in need. All donations are tax deductible.

The BSHF also uses monies raised and donated to help other youth hockey programs to help defray costs. Other programs the BSHF has donated to and donates annually to are the 1993 Minuteman Flames (2006 Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament) as well as
