Dan Tatar
Assistant Coach-Junior Bruins U18′s
Dan Tatar joined the Junior Bruins in 2007, serving as the assistant coach for the Empire Team and as a head coach with many of the Junior Bruin Summer AAA Teams.
During his time with the Empire Junior Hockey League, the team has won every championship possible including a regular season championship, an Empire Junior Hockey League playoff championship, and most recently, a USA Hockey National Championship. Working primarily with the team’s Defense and Goaltenders, Dan has helped the Empire Team consistently produce the league’s most successful defensive numbers.
That team, during the 2012-2013 season became the programs full season, Tier 1 Midget Major team and is now called the Junior Bruins U18′s.
As a Summer AAA coach, Dan has coached nearly every team between the 1992-2002 levels. The Junior Bruins AAA Summer teams are among the nation’s most successful, and over the past four seasons, Dan has played a role in the sustained success of the summer program.
A graduate of Union College, Dan was a goalie for the Dutchman and served as one of the league’s first ever player-coaches during his senior season. Dan was an ECAC Academic All American and received the Union College Community Award for his contributions across the campus community. Prior to Union College, Dan played for the Loomis Chaffee School and the Capital District Selects.
Professionally, Dan is the President of the ADKGroup, a boutique marketing and business development agency in Boston. For his work in the business world and charity world, Dan has received numerous awards and was named a “Rotary International Citizen of the Year in 2008”, one of the Post Star’s “20 Leaders under 40,” a Paul Harris Fellow, and has spoken on entrepreneurship at several colleges and universities. Several of Dan’s projects have garnered media attention including the New York Times, The Boston Globe, and Good Morning America.
