Tryout FAQ
When can I register?
For those that preregister by December 1, 2011 there is a savings of $20. We are accepting applications through Friday, December 16 but those that mail/email/fax in their application after December 1, 2011 will be charged an extra $20. In 2011 we had over 100 players sign up the day before or day of our tryouts and we had trouble processing all those applciations in a timely fashion so we are putting in a financial incentive to get your application to us in a timely fashion so we can be better prepared.
Is it okay if my son can only make one night of Evaluation Sessions?
Yes, there are many players who can only make one session. Making only one session will not be held against players. We prefer to see players there at both sessions but understand there will be conflicts.
How many players will you take from these sessions?
That depends on the talent level that is there. Whether it is our summer team or our midget and junior team tryouts our motto is the same-“If a player is good enough we will find a spot for him in our program”. Last year we took over 100 players who showed up at our tryouts.
Are there still openings or have the teams been picked?
Contrary to what some will have you think, there are openings at EVERY position and at EVERY age group. There are players who have been invited to play on the team already but there are still openings for every age group.
Every year at EVERY age level there are players we take from these Evaluation Sessions. There are players we have never heard of or seen before that come out, impress us and play on our team(s). As said prior-“If a player is good enough we will find a spot for him in our program”.
Are there still openings at the Evaluation sessions?
Yes, there are openings at every position and at every age group. The only position where we will turn players away at the Eval sessions is goalie. This does not mean there are no openings for the team, just no more openings for the Eval sessions. We can only accommodate a certain number of goalies to have on the ice at a time so please get your application/payment to us ASAP to secure a spot.
What is the Evaluation Session format?
The majority will be scrimmaging. After a short warm-up we will jump into scrimmage situations (cross ice, full ice, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, etc.)
How many players are going to be there?
In 2011 we had approximately 20-25 players per age group. We took over 100 players on our teams that showed up at our sessions last year.
