LUCZYK HITS 50!!!
B’s Forward Nets 50th Goal of the Season
MARLBOROUGH, MA-Junior Bruins forward Zach Luczyk hit a milestone on Saturday afternoon when he netted his 50th goal of the year. Luczyk, the team’s leading goal scorer, is also the leading goal scorer in the Empire league as he finished the regular season with 43 tallies.
Luczyk has had a breakout season and is a big reason the B’s have won their 4th regular season title in their five years in the league. His heavy shot, quick release and willingness to shoot from anywhere in the rink have helped turn him into a premier goal scorer.
Luczyk first played for the BJB’s when he was a squirt on the 1992 Junior Bruins AAA tournament
team helping lead them to titles in Montreal and at local AAA summer tournaments. He joined the B’s full time a year ago and helped the B’s win their third consecutive Empire League playoff title. A year ago he scored 15 goals in league play and has more than tripled that total this year.
“Zach is a great example of a player who works tirelessly on his game and his commitment to the game is unquestionable,” coach Chris Masters commented. “He worked all off season on making his stride more effective, increasing his speed and getting stronger and that hard work paid off. He came back this season a different player, loves being on the ice and at the rink. That hard work translated this season to creating more time and space for himself, being able to hold off defenders and out muscling defensemen in front of the net for loose pucks and rebounds. We expect Zach to be a big part of our playoff and nationals run as well as next year on our EJHL team.”
Congrats to Zach!
